Delaware State Police Arrest New Castle Man on Felony Drug Charges Following Traffic Stop – Wilmington

Wilmington– Delaware State Police have arrested 21-year-old Rasheed White of New Castle, on felony drug charges after a traffic stop last night.

On March 16, 2021, at approximately 10:50 p.m., the Governor’s Task Force (GTF) (Delaware State Police & Probation and Parole) were traveling northbound I-495 at Route 13 and observed a white Infiniti Sedan with an equipment violation. Unit members initiated a traffic stop and contacted the sole operator, later identified as Rasheed White. During contact, unit members detected a strong odor of suspected marijuana emitting from within the vehicle and observed suspected marijuana in plain sight.

A subsequent probable cause search was conducted, and unit members recovered approximately 3.3 grams of suspected marijuana, approximately 2.842 grams of heroin, and over $400 in suspected drug proceeds.

White was taken into custody without incident and transported back to Troop 2 where he was charged with the following crimes:

  • Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance (Felony)
  • Possession of Controlled Substance Tier 2 Quantity (Felony)
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Possession of Marijuana (Civil)
  • Failure to Have Registration Plate Light

White was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court #11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institute on $8,500.00 secured bond
