Search Warrant Leads to Drug Arrest- Newark

Newark- The Delaware State Police have arrested 36-year-old Elvis Toala of Newark, following a drug investigation into the sale of illegal drugs.

The Delaware State Police Governor’s Task Force (GTF) & Probation and Parole obtained information that a subject residing on Duet Court, Newark, DE, was selling heroin. GTF members conducted surveillance on the residence and identified the subject as Elvis Toala. While conducting surveillance on Toala, he was observed making numerous drug transactions near his residence. GTF members obtained a search warrant for Toala’s residence, and on January 21, 2021, Toala was taken into custody near his home. Upon taking Toala into custody, GTF members discovered he was in possession of 26 bags of heroin, 27 Oxycodone tablets and over $700.00 in suspected drug proceeds. GTF members then executed a search warrant on his residence and located an additional 840 bags of heroin. A total of approximately 12.99 grams of heroin was recovered.

Toala was transported back to Troop 2 where he was charged with the following:

  • Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance in a Tier 3 Quantity (Felony)
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance in a Tier 3 Quantity (Felony)
  • Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance (Felony)
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance

Toala was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court #11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $43,500 secured bond.
