Claymont- The Delaware State Police arrested 39-year-old Brian Humphries of Claymont, DE, after a search warrant led to the discovery of drugs and a firearm.
On December 30, 2020, Delaware State Police Governor’s Task Force (GTF) and Probation and Parole were contacted by Chesilhurst Police Department in New Jersey regarding Brian Humphries who was wanted for felony assault. Additionally, troopers obtained information that Humphries was in possession of multiple firearms and drugs. Troopers maintained surveillance on Humphries residence located on Pyramid Ave, in Claymont. During this time, troopers learned Humphries was just involved in a vehicle pursuit with a police agency in New Jersey and was not apprehended.
At approximately 4:45 p.m., troopers contacted Humphries as he arrived at his residence. Humphries was taken into custody without incident. Troopers discovered Humphries was in possession of a loaded .25 caliber handgun, a 12-inch fixed blade knife, and 100 rounds of ammunition.
Subsequently, Troopers executed a search warrant on his residence and the following was recovered:
Humphries was transported back to Troop 1 where he was charged with the following:
Humphries was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court #2 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $122,000.00 cash bond.
