Traffic Stop Leads to the Arrest of Two Individuals on Felony Drug Charges- Millsboro

Millsboro- Delaware State Police arrested 42-year-old Tony Drummond of Dagsboro, and 36-year-old Keiyanda Hopkins of Millsboro, on drug charges following a traffic stop.

On November 1, 2020, at approximately 1:29 a.m., Delaware State Police observed the operator of a silver Mercedes traveling on Longneck Road fail to use a turn signal properly while making a left turn onto Rudder Road. Upon contact with the operator, identified as Tony Drummond and front passenger identified as Keiyanda Hopkins, the Trooper smelled an odor of marijuana emitting from inside of the vehicle. Drummond and Hopkins exited the vehicle and were detained. During the investigation Troopers learned Drummond had also ingested a portion of a controlled substance.

Subsequently, Troopers performed a search of the vehicle and discovered the following:

  • Approximately 5.28 grams of crack cocaine
  • Drug Paraphernalia
  • Over $950 in suspected drug proceeds

Drummond was transported to Troop 7, where he was charged with the following crimes:

  • Possession of Controlled Substance Tier 1 Quantity (Felony)
  • Tampering with Physical Evidence (Felony)
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Driving While Suspended
  • Failure when Moving Right, Left or Turning to Signal Continuously

Drummond was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court #3 and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $3,800 secured bond.

Hopkins was transported to Troop 7, where she was charged with the following crimes:

  • Possession of Controlled Substance Tier 1 Quantity (Felony)
  • Tampering with Physical Evidence (Felony)
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Hopkins was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court #3 and committed to the Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on $2,500 secured bond.
