Troopers Arrest Rehoboth Beach Man for Aggravated Menacing – Rehoboth Beach

Rehoboth Beach- The Delaware State Police arrested 26-year-old Christopher Campbell of Rehoboth Beach after he attempted to attack a hotel employee with a knife.

The incident occurred on July 28, 2020, at approximately 12:53 a.m., when Troopers responded to the Holiday Inn Express located at 18438 Kates Lane, Rehoboth Beach, for a report of an aggravated menacing.  Upon arrival, it was learned that a 26-year-old male victim from Millsboro, who is also an employee of the hotel was confronted by Campbell in the lobby. Campbell who appeared in distress, made threatening statements towards the victim and then lunged at him with a knife. The victim was able to wrestle the knife away from Campbell and hold him down until police arrived.

The victim was unharmed from the incident. The knife was recovered at the scene.

Campbell was taken into custody and transported back to Troop 7 where he was charged with the following:

  • Aggravated Menacing (Felony)
  • Disorderly Conduct

Campbell was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $2,750.00 secured bond.
