Delaware State Police Arrest Wilmington Man for Attempted Robbery- Wilmington

Wilmington- The Delaware State Police have arrested 59-year-old Craig C. Shambor of Wilmington for Attempted Robbery 1st Degree.

The incident occurred on June 25, 2020, at approximately 9:30 p.m. when Shambor entered the Walgreens located at 2121 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, and approached the sales counter. Shambor held an object wrapped in a bandana and displayed it in a way to indicate it was a handgun. Shambor ordered the clerk to open the register, but the clerk was unable, and Shambor fled the business empty-handed. No one was injured during the incident.

Through investigative means, troopers were able to identify Shambor as a suspect positively. On July 22, 2020, Shambor was taken into custody without incident at his residence.

He was transported to Troop 2 where he was charged with the following crime:

  • Attempted Robbery 1st Degree (felony)

Shambor was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court #2 and released on a $20,000 unsecured bond.
