Wilmington –  The Delaware State Police arrested 36-year-old Clarissa Haglid in connection with a robbery that occurred yesterday afternoon.

The incident occurred on July 21, 2020, at approximately 2:29 p.m., when Troopers were dispatched to the Zyng Nails, located at 3828 Kennett Pike, Wilmington, for a report of a robbery.  Upon arrival, it was learned that Haglid had entered the store, armed with a handgun, and approached the 36 year-old victim/employee from Philadelphia at the sales counter. Haglid pointed the gun at the victim and demanded money. The victim gave Haglid and undisclosed amount of money, and the suspect fled the store in white Volvo sedan. The employee did not sustain injury as a result of this incident.

Investigation led Troopers to the Union Park dealership where they learned the suspect had taken the get-away vehicle for a test drive. Subsequently, Troopers responded to the suspect’s residence on the 1400 block of North Rodney St., Wilmington and took her into custody. A search of the residence lead to the discovery of the handgun used in the incident.

Haglid was transported to back to Troop 2 where she was charged with the following:

  • Robbery First Degree (felony)
  • Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon (felony)
