*Update* Suspect Arrested for Attempted Murder for Shooting Incident- Milford

Milford– The Delaware State Police have arrested 28-year-old James A. Satcher of Lewes, DE, for Attempted Murder 1st Degree and related charges.

The initial incident occurred on July 15, 2020, at approximately 5:37 p.m., when Troopers were dispatched to Betsy Ross Circle, Milford, for a shooting. Upon arrival, it was discovered a 32-year-old male, of Georgetown, DE, had been shot in the neck. Further investigation revealed the male victim was involved in a physical altercation with Satcher in the apartment complex. During the altercation, Satcher produced a handgun and fired one round, striking the victim before fleeing in a white passenger vehicle in an unknown direction. The victim was transported to a local area hospital and treated for his injury.

Through investigative measures, Satcher was developed as a suspect in the shooting. On July 20, 2020, Satcher was taken into custody without incident and charged with the following crimes:

  • Attempted Murder 1st Degree (felony)
  • Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited (felony)
  • Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony (felony)

Satcher was processed and presented at JP Court 2. He was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on a $1,000,080.00 cash bond.
