Lincoln – The Delaware State Police have arrested 59-year-old Russell Rosetta of Lincoln, and 36-year-old Michael Rosetta of Lincoln, on felony assault and weapons charges following a domestic incident.

The incident occurred on July 19, 2020 at approximately 6:02 p.m., when Troopers were dispatched to a residence in the 22000 block of Pine Haven Road, Lincoln, for a report of a domestic.  Upon Troopers arrival they contacted Michael in the front yard of a neighboring residence who advised he was involved in a fight with his father-Russell, and that he was inside of the trailer with a gun. Troopers detained Michael and made contact with Russel inside of his residence. Troopers observed Russel sustained several lacerations to the head from the incident. Investigation determined Russel and Michael had a physical altercation inside of the residence. Russel was severely injured by Michael during the fight and went into the shed at the rear of the property to get a gun. Once in possession of the shotgun, Michael was able to take it from Russell, and struck him in the head with it multiple times. A computer inquiry revealed Michael and Russell were both convicted felons and are prohibited from possessing a weapon. Russel received medical treatment at the scene by paramedics, but refused treatment once being transported to a local area hospital. Troopers later discovered the 12 gauge shotgun used in the incident in a field behind the residence.

Russell was taken into custody without incident and transported back to Troop 7 where he was charged with the following:

  • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony (felony)
  • Possession of a Firearm by Person Prohibited (felony)
  • Aggravated Menacing (felony)
  • Terroristic Threatening
  • Failure to Comply with Taking of Photos and Fingerprints
  • Possession of a Firearm while under the influence
  • Offensive Touching

Russell was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $9,350.00 secured bond.

Michael was taken into custody without incident and transported back to Troop 7 where he was charged with the following:

  • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony (felony)
  • Possession of a Firearm by Person Prohibited (felony)
  • Assault 2nd Degree (felony)

Michael was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and released on $7,000.00 unsecured bond.
