Troopers Arrest Twin Sisters for Felony Assault on Hotel Manager – Newark

Newark – The Delaware State Police have arrested 19-year-old twin sisters Dasani Pigford-White and Damani Pigford-White of Wilmington, DE for felony assault and related charges.

The incident occurred at approximately 5:35 p.m., Sunday, June 28, 2020, at the Hampton Inn located at 1008 Old Churchmans Rd., Newark. Upon Troopers arrival, it was reported that four individuals were using the pool and were not guests of the hotel. The manager of the hotel confronted the subjects and escorted them off the property. During this encounter Dasani and Damani became disorderly and began assaulting the 55 year old manager from Wilmington, DE. One female suspect struck the victim with a rock in the back of the head causing a laceration. All four subjects then fled the area.

The victim received medical attention for his injuries at a local hospital and was released.

Trooper’s investigation lead them to the Days Inn located at 900 Churchmans Rd., Newark, where they made contact with all four subjects from the pool. While speaking with the subjects, Dasani and Damani began assaulting the other two male subjects in the room for allowing the police inside. In addition, when Troopers intervened both suspects began threatening and fighting the Troopers. After resisting arrest and damaging contents inside the hotel room, Damani and Dasani were successfully taken into custody. They were transported to Troop 6 and each were charged with the following:

  • Assault Second Degree (Felony)
  • Conspiracy Second Degree (Felony)
  • Disorderly Conduct (2 Counts)
  • Criminal Mischief
  • Offensive Touching of a Law Enforcement Officer (3 Counts)
  • Resisting Arrest
  • Criminal Trespassing 3rd Degree
  • Underage Possession/Consumption of Alcohol

Damani and Dasani were arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and each released on $8,152.00 unsecured bond.
