Claymont – Delaware State Police have arrested a Drexel, Pa. man on a weapon and traffic charges, after being stopped for multiple traffic violations.
At approximately 2:19 p.m., Wednesday, May 27, 2020, when Troopers pulled over a silver 2016 Chevrolet Sonic for speeding on I-495 Claymont, De.
Upon making contact with the vehicle, the driver was identified as Bobby Stoves, 36. During contact with Stoves it was learned through investigative measures there were two concealed firearms within the vehicle. A computer search then revealed Stoves did not have a valid Carry Conceal Permit License in Delaware.
A subsequent search of the vehicle produced one black .380 caliber Ruger semi-automatic handgun and one black .45 caliber Ruger semi-automatic handgun. Additionally located in the vehicle was one magazine containing six .380 caliber bullets and one magazine containing ten .45 caliber Ruger bullets.
Stoves was taken into custody without incident and transported to Troop 1 where he was charged with the following crimes:
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon (F)
- Failure to Have Insurance Identification in Possession
- Speeding In Excess of Posted Limits
- Failure to move over for an emergency vehicle
Stoves was subsequently arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court and released on his own recognizance.
