*UPDATE* Notification of Police Activity- Newark

Newark – On April 27, 2020, at approximately 6:09 p.m. the Delaware State Police responded to the 700 block of E. Chestnut Hill Rd., for a report of loud bangs. As precautionary measures, Troopers and Special Operations Response Team responded out of an abundance of caution for the residents and community. Further investigation determined the incident was not criminal in nature, and only a verbal domestic had occurred. There were no injures as a result of this incident.

The area of E. Chestnut Hill Rd. (Rt. 4) was closed in both directions between Augusta Dr. and Salem Church Rd. for approximately six hours as a result of the investigation. The roadway is now open.
