Troopers Arrest Lincoln Man on Multiple Drug Charges-Laurel

Laurel- The Delaware State Police have arrested 42-year-old Lamont A. Hazzard of Lincoln on multiple drug related charges.

The incident occurred on March 25, 2020 at approximately 5:35 p.m., when Troopers were dispatched to the Royal Farms located at 30983 Sussex Highway, Laurel, to check on the welfare of a subject who was continuously driving around the building in circles.  The subject had left the area in a silver Lexus prior to police arrival.

A Trooper later observed the Lexus parked in the parking lot of the Lakeside Inn located at 30931 Sussex Highway, Laurel.  Standing next to the driver’s side door of the vehicle was Hazzard, who matched the description of the driver provided to Troopers at the Royal Farms.  Upon contact with Hazzard, an odor of alcohol was detected.  Further investigation led to the discovery of the following:

  • Approximately 10.46 grams of Methamphetamine
  • Approximately  .196 grams of Heroin
  • (4) Lorazepam pills
  • Drug paraphernalia

Hazzard was transported back to Troop 5 where he was charged with the following:

  • Possession With Intent To Deliver a Controlled Substance Tier 2 Quantity
  • Possession With Intent To Deliver a Controlled Substance
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance (2 counts)
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (2 counts)

Hazzard was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and released on $30800.00 unsecured bond.
