Date Posted: Wednesday, March 25th, 2020

Marydel, DE- The Delaware State Police have arrested 31-year-old Daniel W. Reedy Jr. for aggravated menacing and related charges.

The incident occurred on March 24, 2020 at approximately 8:25 p.m., when Troopers were dispatched to a residence located in the 800 block of Taraila Road, Marydel, DE, for a weapons complaint.  Upon arrival, Troopers met with a 28-year-old male, who advised that an acquaintance of his, Daniel Reedy, had responded to his residence and threatened him with a handgun.  Through further investigation it was learned that Reedy was hired by the victim to complete some renovation work and there were a few things that needed to be fixed.  When Reedy responded to the victim’s residence, the two engaged in a verbal altercation leading Reedy to pull out a handgun and threaten the victim. The victim did not sustain injury and Reedy left the residence prior to police arrival.

Reedy was subsequently located at his residence in the 300 block of Lambert Road, Magnolia, and taken into custody without incident.

Reedy was transported back to Troop 3 where he was charged with the following:

  •  Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
  •  Possession of a Firearm By Person Convicted of a Felony Within 10 Years
  • Aggravated Menacing
