Troopers Arrest Three Suspects on Drug and Weapon Charges-Rehoboth Beach

Rehoboth Beach- The Delaware State Police have arrested three suspects on drug and multiple weapon charges.

The incident occurred on February 23, 2020 at approximately 12:41 a.m., when Troopers were dispatched to the Jake’s Seafood restaurant, located at 19178 Coastal Highway, Rehoboth Beach, for a report of a disorderly subject.  Upon arrival, Troopers met with a security guard who advised that a subject became disorderly and was asked to leave the establishment.  The subject was reported to have been seen with a firearm in his hand and entered the driver’s side of a black Chevy sedan.

Troopers observed a 2018 black Chevrolet Malibu exiting the restaurant’s parking lot and make a right turn onto southbound Coastal Highway.  The vehicle was seen failing to maintain it’s lane and a traffic stop was initiated.  Contact was made with the driver, identified as Khail S. Reid, 21, of Delmar, DE, when an odor of marijuana was detected.  There were also two passengers in the vehicle, identified as Isaiah Reid, 22, of Seaford, DE and Saa’diq A. Holmes, 21, of Newark, NJ.

A subsequent search of the vehicle was conducted and the following was located:

  • a loaded (10 rounds) 9mm handgun with an obliterated serial number
  • a loaded (17 rounds) 9mm handgun
  • (3) 9mm bullets
  • Approximately 59.12 grams of marijuana
  • Over $600.00 in suspected drug proceeds

A computer inquiry revealed that all three suspects were a person prohibited from possessing a firearm or ammunition.  They were all transported back to Troop 7 where they were charged with the following:

Khail S. Reid:

  • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
  • Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited
  • Possession With Intent To Deliver a Controlled Substance
  • Possession of a Weapon with a Removed, Obliterated or Altered Serial Number
  • Possession of a Deadly Weapon A Semi Auto or Auto By Person Prohibit
  • Conspiracy Second Degree
  • Failure to Have Insurance Identification
  • Drive in Proper Lane

Khail Reid was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $15250.00 secured bond.

Isaiah Reid:

  • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
  • Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited
  • Possession With Intent To Deliver a Controlled Substance
  • Possession of a Weapon with a Removed, Obliterated or Altered Serial Number
  • Possession of a Deadly Weapon A Semi Auto or Auto By Person Prohibit
  • Conspiracy Second Degree

Isaiah Reid was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $14500.00 secured bond.

Saa’diq A. Holmes:

  • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
  • Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited

  • Possession of a Deadly Weapon A Semi Auto or Auto By Person Prohibit
  • Conspiracy Second Degree

Saa’diq Holmes was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $14500.00 secured bond.
