Lewes- The Delaware State Police are investigating a robbery that occurred in a shopping center parking lot last evening.
The incident occurred on February 11, 2020 at approximately 5:45 p.m., in the Weiss Market parking lot located at 17232 N. Village Main Boulevard, Lewes. Troopers made contact with a 23-year-old female victim who advised that she arrived in the parking lot and parked her vehicle in the middle section of the parking lot. The victim indicated that as she was attempting to exit her vehicle, she was approached from behind. The unknown suspect proceeded grab the victim’s pocket where her money was located. A brief struggle ensued when the suspect struck the victim with his arm and was able to take an undisclosed amount of cash out of her pocket. The suspect then fled the area in an unknown direction. The victim did not sustain injury as a result of this incident.
The victim described the suspect as a white male, possibly Hispanic, between the ages of 16-19 and 5’07-5’09” tall. The suspect was wearing a blue or black jacket and a beanie cap.
