Troopers Investigating Assault – Wilmington

Wilmington – The Delaware State Police are investigating a pepper spray assault that took place in a Fairfax area shopping center on Tuesday morning.

The incident occurred at approximately 11:04 a.m., Tuesday, January, 28, 2020 in the parking lot of the Wells Fargo Bank, located at 2011 Concord Pike, Wilmington. A 23 year old female was walking through the parking lot towards the Wells Fargo, where she is an employee, when she came upon a male subject. As she passed the male, he asked whether she was a bank employee, to which she replied; yes. At that point the male produced a canister of pepper spray and sprayed the victim. The victim continued into the bank and the male fled in an unknown direction by unknown means.

The suspect, who is a stranger to the victim, was described as a white male, 50-60 years of age, 5’7”-5”8” tall, 175-185 lbs., wearing a brown jacket. Prior to the assault occurring the suspect was observed leaning against a white unknown make and model sedan.
