Troopers Arrest Georgetown Man For 5th Offense DUI – Rehoboth Beach

Rehoboth Beach, Delaware – The Delaware State Police have arrested a Georgetown man after he was found to be under the influence for the 5th time.

The preliminary investigation has determined the incident occurred on Saturday, November 16, 2019, at approximately 12:29 p.m. when troopers were dispatched to a restaurant located at 18585 Coastal Highway, Rehoboth Beach for a welfare check. It was learned that a male subject drove his vehicle to this restaurant and then walked into the restaurant ordered food and sat down nodding off in and out of consciousness. There was a concern for his welfare. Upon arrival, troopers found the man slumped over and detected a strong odor of alcohol emanating from his breath. The man was unresponsive after several attempts to check his welfare. After he awoke, he was identified as Christopher L. Goff, 52 of Georgetown, he appeared to be intoxicated and in fact showed multiple signs of impairment. A DUI investigation was initiated and a computer inquiry of Christopher Goff revealed four previous DUI convictions.

Christopher L. Goff, 52 of Georgetown, was taken into custody without incident and transported to Troop 7 in Lewes. He was charged with her 5th Offense DUI (Felony). He was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on a $6,000.00 secured bond.
