Traffic Stop Leads to Drug and Weapon Arrests – Lincoln

Lincoln, Delaware – The Delaware State Police have arrested two men on multiple gun and drug-related offenses after their vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation in Lincoln, Friday afternoon.

At approximately 2:13 p.m., Friday, November 15, 2019, Troopers were on proactive patrol in the area of Johnson Road and Dupont Boulevard, Lincoln. A white 2007 Chevrolet Impala was traveling northbound on DuPont Boulevard and a traffic stop was conducted for unauthorized tinted windows. Upon contact with the occupants of the vehicle the trooper detected an odor of marijuana and observed the passenger attempt to conceal potential illegal items under the seat. The driver was identified as Chad W. Roundtree, 25 of Lincoln, and the passenger was identified as Jefferson A. Ramirez-Rodriguez, 19 of Lincoln. A computer inquiry was conducted which revealed Chad Roundtree had an active capias for failure to pay out of the Sussex County Court of Common Pleas. Roundtree was arrested without incident. A search of the passenger (Ramirez-Rodriguez) revealed $157 of suspected drug proceeds as well as a firearm inside of the vehicle. Also located were marijuana, a loaded handgun, a ski mask, and drug paraphernalia. Ramirez-Rodriguez was arrested without incident as well and both were transported to Troop 7, Lewes.

Chad W. Roundtree, 25 of Lincoln was arrested for Possession of a Concealed Deadly Weapon, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited, Possession with the Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, Conspiracy 2nd Degree, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia not related to personal use marijuana, and Operating a vehicle with aftermarket tint without a tint waiver.

Jefferson A. Ramirez-Rodriguez, 19 of Lincoln was arrested for Possession of a Concealed Deadly Weapon, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited, Possession with the Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, Conspiracy 2nd Degree, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia not related to personal use marijuana.

Both were processed and arraigned before Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution in default of a $21,500.00 secured bond.
