Troopers Arrest Two After Fight Led to Weapon Displayed-Millsboro

Millsboro- The Delaware State Police have arrested two suspects after a fight led to one suspect pulling out a handgun and threatening several individuals.

The incident occurred on November 1, 2019 at approximately 3:35 a.m., when three victims, two 18-year-olds and one 19-year-old, responded to Troop 7 to report that a fight had occurred while they were at a small gathering at a residence located in the 24000 block of Shoreline Drive, Millsboro, DE, when one suspect pulled out a handgun.  The victims reported that two male subjects, that they did know, were also at the residence.  One of the male subjects, later identified as 22-year-old Andrew L. Mudry of Millsboro, DE became disorderly and began screaming at everyone in the residence.  A fight ensued in the residence when Mudry physically assaulted two victims.  Murdy’s friend, 22-year old Ja’Charis D. Owens of Dover, then proceeded to pull out a handgun and was threatening to kill two of the victims.  Murdy and Owens then engaged in another physical altercation with two other victims ages 19 and 16 who were also at the residence.  Owens then proceeded to threaten them with the handgun.  Mudry and Owens left the residence and the victims did not sustain injury.

Ja’Charis D. Owens was taken into custody at the Dover Air Force Base without incident.  Owens was transported back to Troop 4 where he was charged with the following:

  • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
  • Aggravated Menacing (4 counts)
  • Conspiracy Second Degree
  • Terroristic Threatening
  • Offensive Touching (2 counts)

Owens was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $35,000.00 secured bond.

Andrew L. Mudry was taken into custody by Probation and Parole and transported back to Troop 4 where he was charged with the following:

  • Conspiracy Second Degree (Felony)
  • Terroristic Threatening
  • Offensive Touching (4 counts)

Mudry was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and received $3400.00 unsecured bond.  He was transported to Probation and Parole and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on an administrative warrant.
