Troopers Arrest Lincoln Man for Assault- Lincoln

Lincoln- The Delaware State Police have arrested 33-year-old Nicholas J. Arches of Lincoln, DE, after he struck a victim with his vehicle.

The incident occurred on October 8, 2019 at approximately 3:09 p.m., when Troopers were dispatched to the 8700 block of  Clendaniel Pond Road, Lincoln, in reference to a subject struck by a vehicle.  Upon arrival it was learned that a black Chevrolet Cobalt, driven by Arches, was traveling westbound on Clendaniel Pond Road when he swerved and struck a 38-year-old male victim as he was walking in the grass area off the roadway.  It was learned that the male victim had just engaged in a verbal altercation with Arches at Arches’s residence when the victim proceeded to walk away.  Arches then proceeded to get into his vehicle when he intentionally struck the victim as he was walking away.  The victim sustained minor injuries and declined medical treatment.

Arches was located at his residence on Clendaniel Pond Road and taken into custody without incident.  He was transported back to Troop 7 where he was charged with the following:

  • Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony
  • Assault Second Degree
  • Reckless Endanger First Degree
  • Driving While Suspended or Revoked

Arches was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $20,500.00 cash only bond.
