Drug Investigation Leads to Two Arrests- Harrington

Harrington- The Delaware State Police have arrested two Harrington residents in connection with the distribution of illegal drugs.

On August 29, 2019, members of the Kent County Drug Unit (KDU) with the assistance of the Governor’s Task Force (GTF) executed a search warrant at a residence located on Cozy Woods Drive, Harrington, related to an ongoing investigation into the distribution of crack cocaine in the matter of 51-year-old Angeline Levan and 49-year-old James A. JohnsonUpon entering the residence, Levan was taken into custody without incident. Levan’s 17-year-old daughter was also present at the residence.

A search of the residence was conducted and the following was recovered:

  • Approximately 140.46 grams of Cocaine
  • Approximately 61.35 grams of Crack Cocaine
  • Over $2,500.00 in suspected Drug Proceeds

Angelina Levan was transported back to Troop 3 where she was charged with the following:

  • Possession With Intent To Deliver a controlled substance in a Tier 4 quantity
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance in a Tier 5 quantity (2 counts)
  • Possession With Intent To Deliver a controlled substance in a Tier 4 quantity
  • Conspiracy 2nd Degree
  • Endangering the Welfare of a Child
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Levan was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on $22,500.00 cash only bond.

James Johnson had departed the residence prior to the execution of the warrant. Johnson later turned himself in at Troop 3 where he was charged with the following:

  • Possession With Intent To Deliver a controlled substance in a Tier 4 quantity
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance in a Tier 5 quantity (2 counts)
  • Possession With Intent To Deliver a controlled substance in a Tier 4 quantity
  • Conspiracy 2nd Degree
  • Endangering the Welfare of a Child
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Johnson was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $22,500.00 cash only bond.
