Troopers Arrest Smyrna Man in Connection with Utility Trailer Thefts-Kent County

Kent County- The Delaware State Police have arrested 42-year-old Keith B. Worley in connection with multiple utility trailer thefts and related charges.

The Delaware State Police, Troop 3 Property Crimes Unit began investigating a rash of thefts surrounding utility trailers within Kent County beginning in early August, 2019. On August 16, 2019, one of the victims from these thefts observed a black Ford Expedition hauling his utility trailer southbound on Rt 13 in the area of Rodney Village. The victim followed the trailer into the parking lot of the Eden Hill Medical Center within the City limits of Dover. The Dover Police conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and took Keith Worley into custody without incident.

Four of the five utility trailers that were reported stolen along with a zero turn lawn mower were recovered in the Canterbury Mobile Home Park in Felton. A  5th trailer that was stolen from the unit block of Avon Court has not been recovered.

Worely was turned over to Troop 3 where he was charged with the following:

  • Theft-Felony (3 counts)
  • Theft (3 counts)
  • Criminal Mischief (2 counts)
  • Criminal Trespass (5 counts)

Worely was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $4,104.00 secured bond.
