Troopers Arrest Camden Wyoming Man for Rash of Thefts- Kent County

Date Posted: Thursday, July 11th, 2019

Kent County-  The Delaware State Police have arrested a Camden Wyoming man in connection with multiple thefts.

The investigation began in April 2019, when the Delaware State Police, Troop 3 began investigating a rash of thefts involving aluminum concrete forms from several job sites.  On July 10, 2019 at approximately 9:15 p.m., members of the Troop 3 Criminal Investigative and Property Crimes Units were in the area of Pearsons Corner Road and Hazletville Road, Hartly, when they observed a dark colored Chevrolet Blazer driving at a slow rate of speed while shining what appeared to be a flashlight onto the property.  The vehicle turned into a construction lot where concrete forms were being stored on a trailer.  The operator of the vehicle, identified as 56-year-old Mark T. Long exited the vehicle with a flashlight in hand and began searching through the pile of concrete forms.

Further investigations revealed that there was a Chevrolet pickup truck parked in the driveway of Long’s residence, located in the 3000 block of Mud Mill Road containing suspected stolen concrete forms.  The Blazer and the pickup truck were searched and evidence including scrap yard receipts were recovered.  Also recovered were nine aluminum concrete forms in various lengths.

Long was taken into custody without incident and transported back to Troop 3 where he was charged with the following:

  • Theft-Felony (7 counts)
  • Criminal Trespass Third Degree (4 counts)

Long was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and released on his own recognizance.
