Troopers Arrest Laurel Woman For Discharging Firearm-Seaford

Seaford– The Delaware State Police have arrested a Laurel woman after a domestic argument led to her discharging a firearm.

The incident occurred on July 9, 2019 at approximately 10:29 p.m., when Troopers were dispatched to N. Paula Lynn Drive, Seaford, for a report of a domestic.  Upon arrival, contact was made with a 37-year-old male who advised that he and his girlfriend, 43-year-old Toya D. Roberts had engaged in a verbal altercation.  Roberts proceeded to leave the residence when she pulled out a firearm and shot the tire of a vehicle that was parked in the driveway.  The victim was outside during this timeframe and did not sustain injury.  Roberts left the residence in her vehicle prior to police arrival.

Troopers located a shell casing at the scene and observed that the vehicle sustained a flat tire and damage to it’s rim from the gunshot.

Roberts was contacted and turned herself in at Troop 5 where she was charged with the following:

  • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
  • Reckless Endanger First Degree
  • Criminal Mischief

Troopers recovered a 9mm pistol and two magazines with a total of (19) 9mm rounds.
