Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Arrest – Ellendale

Ellendale – The Delaware State Police have charged two Pennsylvania men with multiple drug offenses, after being stopped for speeding, Saturday afternoon.

The incident occurred at approximately 5:03 p.m., Saturday, June 15, 2019, when a Trooper stopped a black, Mercedes Benz for speeding, on S. DuPont Hwy., south of Fleatown Rd. in Ellendale. The Trooper made contact with the occupants of the vehicle, who were identified as 18 year old Benjamin Roscioli of Horsham, PA, the driver, and 18 year old Andrew McPoyle of N. Wales, PA, the front seat passenger. While speaking with the subjects the Trooper could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from the inside of the vehicle.

A subsequent search of the vehicle produced 187.5 grams of marijuana which was packaged in multiple plastic baggies, 98, 1 gram vials, of liquid THC, an assortment of drug paraphernalia and $6,806 in suspected drug proceeds.

Roscioli and McPoyle were transported to Troop 7 where they were charged with one count each of Possession of a Controlled Substance in a Tier 1 Quantity, Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, Conspiracy 2nd Degree, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Roscioli was also cited for speeding.

They were arraigned in Justice of the Peace court #3 and released on $6,250 unsecured bail, each.
