Newark – The Delaware State Police have identified 28 year old, Richmond T. Yarmai, of Philadelphia, PA as the suspect responsible for the May 8^th, 2019 robbery of the Wells Fargo Bank located at 2624 Capitol Trail in Newark. In this incident Yarmai presented a note to the teller demanding money, while implying the he was armed with a handgun. Through further investigative measures detectives were able to identify a black, Hyundai Veloster with PA tags as a suspect vehicle.

On May 20^th, Delaware State Police detectives were contacted by the Bensalem (PA) Police Department who advised that the suspect in the Capitol Trail Wells Fargo robbery was the same suspect responsible for two robberies in their jurisdiction.

On May 30^th, a bank robbery took place in the City of Philadelphia in which a black, Hyundai Veloster with PA tags was identified as a suspect vehicle. In this incident the tag number on the Hyundai was obtained and was subsequently linked to Yarmai.

Through further investigative measures detectives from the Troop 2 Robbery Unit were able to positively identify Yarmai as the Wells Fargo suspect, and on June 3^rd arrest warrants were obtained charging him with Robbery 1^st Degree. The Bensalem Police Department was notified of the active Delaware warrant and they were able to take Yarmai into custody. Once in custody Yarmai gave a statement to officers from the Bensalem Police Department in which he confessed to all four robberies.

Yarmai is currently incarcerated in Pennsylvania where he is being held on a secured bond. The investigation is in the process of being turned over to the FBI for federal prosecution.
