Troopers Arrest Camden Wyoming Man for Multiple Burglaries

Camden Wyoming/Marydel- The Delaware State Police have arrested a Camden Wyoming in connection with two burglaries.

During the month of May 2019, the Delaware State Police, Troop 3 handled burglary complaints on Fox Hole Road, Camden Wyoming and Sandy Bend Road, Marydel in which the residences were either vacant or under construction.  The suspect proceeded to remove scrap metal, flat bed trailers and tools from the properties.

Through investigative measures, Troopers were able to identify 29-year-old David D. Smith as a suspect.  On June 5, 2019, Smith was taken into custody at his residence in the 3000 block of Westville Road, Camden Wyoming without incident.  He was transported back to Troop 3 where he was charged with the following:

  • Burglary Second Degree
  • Burglary Third Degree
  • Theft -Felony (3 counts)
  • Criminal Mischief (2 counts)
  • Criminal Trespass

Smith was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $9501.00 secured bond.
