Date Posted: Friday, May 24th, 2019

Lewes- The Delaware State Police have arrested a Lewes teenager after an altercation led to her displaying a handgun.

The incident was reported on May 21, 2019 at approximately 5:04 p.m., when Troopers received information that a fight occurred in which a weapon was displayed, earlier in the day at approximately 3:30 p.m., at a playground located in Angola Beach and Estates Park.  Further investigation revealed that a verbal dispute occurred between 16-year-old Taylor Gasiewski and another 16-year-old female acquaintance.  The altercation became physical and Gasiewski proceeded to display what appeared to be a handgun, and began swinging it at the victim.  The victim was not injured as a result of this incident.

Troopers made contact with Gasiewski at her residence in Lewes where she was taken into custody without incident.  A handgun was also recovered from the residence.   Gasiewski was transported back to Troop 7 where she was charged with the following:

  • Aggravated Menacing (Felony)
  • Reckless Endanger First Degree (Felony)
  • Offensive Touching
