Lewes- The Delaware State Police have arrested a Lewes teenager after an altercation led to her displaying a handgun.
The incident was reported on May 21, 2019 at approximately 5:04 p.m., when Troopers received information that a fight occurred in which a weapon was displayed, earlier in the day at approximately 3:30 p.m., at a playground located in Angola Beach and Estates Park. Further investigation revealed that a verbal dispute occurred between 16-year-old Taylor Gasiewski and another 16-year-old female acquaintance. The altercation became physical and Gasiewski proceeded to display what appeared to be a handgun, and began swinging it at the victim. The victim was not injured as a result of this incident.
Troopers made contact with Gasiewski at her residence in Lewes where she was taken into custody without incident. A handgun was also recovered from the residence. Gasiewski was transported back to Troop 7 where she was charged with the following:
Gasiewski was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and released to a guardian on her own recognizance.
