Troopers Arrest Federalsburg, MD Man for Felony Assault-Seaford

Date Posted: Monday, April 1st, 2019

Seaford- The Delaware State Police have arrested a Federalsburg, Maryland man after he physically assaulted his girlfriend.

The incident occurred on March 30, 2019, at approximately 9:04 p.m., when Troopers were dispatched to Cinnamons bar located at 606 Bridgeville, Highway, Seaford for a report of a physical assault.  Upon arrival Troopers made contact with a female victim who sustained apparent facial injuries.

Through further investigation, it was determined that the victim’s boyfriend, 37-year-old Christopher A. Henry, had physically assaulted the victim while she was a passenger in her vehicle driven by Henry.  As they arrived at the bar, the victim attempted to getaway from Henry on foot.  Henry subsequently caught up to her and began to physically assault and strangle her, and threw her cell phone to restrict her from calling 911 .  The victim was able to getaway and enter the bar to seek assistance.

The victim, a 37-year-old female from Maryland, was transported to the Nanticoke Memorial Hospital where she was treated with non-life threatening injuries.

Henry was located a short time later in a graveyard off of SR 20.  He was taken into custody without incident and transported back to Troop 5 where he was charged with the following:

  • Assault Second Degree
  • Strangulation
  • Malicious Interference Emergency Communications
  • Offensive Touching

Henry was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $21,500.00 secured bond.
