Lincoln- The Delaware State Police have arrested a Lincoln man after he physically assaulted a victim.
The incident occurred on March 22, 2019 at approximately 1:00 p.m., when Troopers were dispatched to the 22000 block of Sagebrush Lane, Lincoln for a report of a domestic. Prior to arrival, Troopers learned that a female victim with severe facial injuries was located on the side of the roadway by a motorist and transported to the Sussex Bayhealth Hospital. It was learned that the female victim had just come from the residence where the domestic had been reported . Upon arrival to the residence, Troopers made contact with 43-year-old Toussaint L. Jones. Through further investigations, it was determined that Jones had engaged in a physical altercation with his 46-year-old sister in-law. Jones had struck the victim in the face and proceeded to strangle her. The victim was able to flee the residence on foot when she was picked up by a passing motorist.
Jones was taken into custody without incident and transported back to Troop 4 where he was charged with the following:
Jones was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution $16,000.00 cash only bond.
