A Warrant Attempt Leads to Drug Arrest- Marydel

Marydel– The Delaware State Police have arrested two suspects after a warrant attempt led to the discovery of drugs and a weapon.

On March 7, 2019, at approximately 4:12 p.m., members of the Kent County Governor’s Task Force (GTF) and Probation and Parole responded to a residence in the 300 block of Grygo Road, Marydel, for a warrant attempt in reference to 31-year-old Amanda Husfelt who was wanted out of Kent County Superior Court.  Husfelt had also been stopped by Troopers earlier that day for a traffic violation in which she provided a false name.  Upon arrival, Husfelt along with her boyfriend, 35-year-old boyfriend, Quioly Demby who was on probation were located at the residence.

An administrative search warrant was executed and the following items were located and seized:

  • (1) 380 ammunition round
  • 165 bags of heroin (approximately 1.155 grams)
  • Walther PK 380 handgun

Husfelt and Demby were taken into custody without incident and transported back to Troop 3.

Amanda Husfelt was charged with the following:

  • Possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance
  • Possession of a Deadly Weapon by a Person Prohibited
  • Possession of  a controlled substance in a Tier 1 quantity
  • Conspiracy Second Degree
  • Criminal Impersonation
  • Failure to Stop At a Stop Sign
  • Driving Vehicle at Unreasonable or Imprudent Speed

Husfelt was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on $19,002.00 secured bond.

Quioly Demby was charged with the following:

  • 3rd Offense Possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance
  • Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited
  • Possession of a controlled substance in a Tier 1 quantity
  • Conspiracy Second Degree

Demby was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $65,000.00 secured bond.
