Date Posted: Thursday, January 24th, 2019

New Castle – The Delaware State Police have charged a pair of New Castle men with multiple offenses after they were apprehended while committing a burglary late Tuesday night.

At approximately 11:45 p.m., Tuesday, January 22, 2019, Troopers responded to Aaron’s Furniture, located at 511 E. Basin Rd., New Castle in reference to an alarm activation. Upon arriving on scene Troopers located a subject, later identified as 55 year old William Ramos, at the rear of the business, standing next to hole that had been created in the exterior concrete wall, by the use of a sledge hammer. William Ramos was immediately taken in to custody without incident. Troopers were also able to determine that there was a second subject, who would later be identified as 53 year old David Ramos, still at large inside the business. A Delaware State Police K-9 Unit was then utilized to conduct a search of the interior of the business and subsequently indicated to his handler that the subject was hiding in the drop ceiling. Troopers directed David Ramos to surrender at which time he complied and was taken in to custody without incident.

Both suspects were transported to Troop 2 where they each charged with the following offenses:

  • Burglary 3rd Degree
