Troopers Arrest Dover Man for Aggravated Menacing-Dover

Dover– The Delaware State Police have arrested a Dover man after he threatened two individuals with a firearm.

The incident occurred on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at approximately 8:44 p.m., when Troopers were dispatched to the 200 block of North Governor Boulevard for a report of a subject threatening people with a firearm.  Upon arrival, Troopers learned that 30-year-old Lamar J. Dozier had entered his residence and began to argue with an acquaintance, a 20-year-old female of New Castle, accusing her of stealing his property.  Dozier went to the backyard and re-entered the residence with a bag containing ammunition and a rifle.  Dozier began to threaten the female and her 23-year-old boyfriend who resides with Dozier at the residence, by pointing the rifle at them.

As Troopers arrived, Dozier was in the process of exiting the back door when he was subsequently taken into custody without incident.  Troopers recovered  a .22 rifle and a box of 9mm ammunition from the residence.

Dozier was transported back to Troop 3 where he was charged with the following:

  • Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
  • Possession of Ammunition by a Person Prohibited
  • Aggravated Menacing (2 counts)
  • Terroristic Threatening (2 counts)

Dozier was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court 7 and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $22,000 secured bond.
