*UPDATE-Arrest Made* Troopers Investigating Shots Fired Incident – Bear

Newark – The Delaware State Police have arrested Tymier Byrd, 16, of Newark, for his involvement in a shots fired incident that occurred on Friday, September 7, 2018, in the parking lot of the Sunset Station Shopping Center, Bear. During the incident Byrd fired multiple rounds into a vehicle operated by a male subject who he had just had a verbal altercation with. The male subject was not injured during the incident.

Through a variety of investigative leads and measures detectives were able to develop Byrd as a suspect and subsequently executed a search warrant at his Newark area residence on Thursday, September 13, 2018. As a result of the search, evidence to include a 9mm handgun was recovered, further linking Byrd to the incident. Byrd was taken in to custody without incident at the time of search and then transported to Troop 2 where he was charged with one count each of Reckless Endangering 1st Degree, Possession of a Deadly Weapon during the Commission of a Felony and Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Juvenile. He was then arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court #11 before being committed to the New Castle County Detention Center in lieu of $23,500.00 cash bail.
