New Castle (19720) – The Delaware State Police are investigating an armed robbery that took place in the parking lot of a New Castle area bank late Saturday night.

The incident occurred at approximately 11:00 p.m., Saturday, September, 1, 2018 in the parking lot of the Wells Fargo Bank, located at 1424 N. DuPont Hwy., New Castle. A 26 year old Delaware City man was seated in his vehicle just prior to using the bank’s ATM when three subjects approached. The first subject, who positioned himself at the driver’s door was in possession of a black handgun. A second subject, who was at the front passenger door was in possession of a silver hand gun, while a third subject remained in the area of the passenger side rear door. The subject at the driver’s door pointed the gun at the victim and demanded property from inside the vehicle. The victim complied with the demand by turning over an undisclosed amount of cash and two cell-phones. After obtaining the property the victim was ordered to put his head down and not look up. During the time that the victim had his head down all three subjects were able to flee. The victim further advised that he believed they were in a black vehicle because there was one in the lot prior to the incident, but it was gone when he finally looked up.
