Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Arrest-Middletown

Middletown – The Delaware State Police arrest a suspect after traffic stop leads to the discovery of drugs.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at approximately 9:25 a.m. as a trooper on patrol on the Korean War Veteran’s Memorial Highway (SR-1) northbound north of the William V. Roth Bridge observed a driver operating a green Honda Accord traveling northbound with a seatbelt violation. The trooper activated the emergency equipment and initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle. During the vehicle stop an odor of marijuana was detected and bags of marijuana and drug paraphernalia were observed inside the vehicle. During the investigation over 353 grams of marijuana was located.

The driver identified as Mosi L. Howell, 19 of Wilmington, was taken into custody and transported to Troop 9, Odessa where he was charged with Manufacturing, Delivers, or Possesses with intent to Deliver Contraband Substance, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, no seat belt and no license.

He was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released on $3000.00 unsecured bond.
