Townsend – Delaware State Police are investigating the armed robbery of a Townsend man, that occurred at his residence over the weekend.
The incident occurred at approximately 12:46 a.m., Sunday, December 17, 2017, at a residence in the 6100 block of Summit Bridge Road, Townsend. The 31 year old victim had just returned home, and was attempting to enter his residence via the back door. As he was unlocking the door, he was pushed from behind, and knocked into the side of the house. A male suspect then placed a handgun in the victim’s back, ordered him to put his hands up and to not move. The suspect then removed the victim’s wallet from his back pants pocket. After obtaining the wallet, which contained an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect fled on foot in an unknown direction. The victim was not injured as a result of the incident.
The suspect was described as a black male, wearing a black sweatshirt, blue jeans, black mask and armed with a black, unknown make and model handgun.
