Two Arrested in Drug Investigation-Dover

Dover- Members of the Kent County Drug Unit (KDU), with the assistance of  Kent County Governor’s Task Force (GTF), and Smyrna Police Department concluded a drug investigation with the arrest of two people.

On Thursday, December 7, 2017, members of KDU with the assistance of Kent GTF and Smyrna Police Department concluded a cocaine investigation in the 200 block of Kentwood Drive, Kentwood Mobile Home Park. The Kent County Drug Unit received information on a subject that was selling large quantities of cocaine throughout the Kent County area.   The suspect, identified as Lex D. Draper, 50 of Dover was reported to be delivering an undisclosed amount of cocaine in the Dover area.  Surveillance was conducted and subsequently confirmed this criminal activity.  Draper along with an accomplice, identified as Charles F. Kite, 54 of Dover were in a 2002 GMC Yukon in the area of Rose Valley School Road when they were taken into custody without incident. Draper and Kite were found to be in possession of 15.71 grams of cocaine, and both were charged with the following; Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance, Conspiracy 2nd Degree, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  Draper and Kite were both arraigned out of Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on  $72,200.00 secured bond.
