Brothers Arrested in Bridgeville Car Break-ins

Bridgeville – The Delaware State Police have arrested brothers in connection with the recent car break-ins south of Bridgeville.

Tommy J. Nunemann, 34, and William C. Nunemann, 31, both of Seaford were both taken into custody on Thursday, June 29, 2017 after the investigation revealed they were attempting to sell stolen items to a private citizen.  Upon taking Tommy into custody at his residence, he was found to have a fully loaded .25 caliber pistol in his waistband which was reported stolen from one of the victims in the thefts.  Detectives also located a black backpack containing two other firearms that were stolen in the car break-ins, along with various other articles of victim’s belongings.

The Nunemann brothers were transported to Troop 4 in Georgetown where they were both charged with over 70 crimes including Burglary 3rd, Theft of a Firearm, Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited, Theft, Conspiracy, and various others charges.  They were both committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in lieu of $64,000.00 secured (Tommy) bond and $61,000.00 secured (William) bond.

The Delaware State Police continue to urge people to utilize the following tips to avoid being a victim of thefts from your vehicles:

  • Lock your car doors and roll up you windows
  • Do not leave valuables inside your vehicle
  • Leave outdoor lights on in the driveway or have security lighting installed
  • Report any suspicious activity to 9-1-1 immediately
