Troopers Investigate Convenience Store Robbery

Wilmington (19809)- Delaware State Police are investigating the robbery of an Edgemoor area convenience store that occurred early this morning.

The initial investigation has determined that the incident happened at approximately 2:29 a.m. today, Thursday, March 16, 2017, as a male suspect entered the 7-11 located at 4865 Governor Printz Boulevard. The suspect approached the sales counter and confronted a store employee, implying that he was armed with a weapon. The suspect then demanded money from the cash register. The clerk complied with the suspect’s demands and turned over an undisclosed amount of money to him. The suspect then walked behind the sales counter where he then removed lottery tickets which were on display for sale. He then exited the store and was last seen entering a light-colored unknown make and model vehicle, which then exited the parking lot and was last seen fleeing southbound on Governor Printz Boulevard. The clerk was not injured.

The suspect was described as a black male. He was 5’09” tall and was last seen wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and boots. There is no further physical or clothing description available.
