Troopers Investigate Strong-Arm Robbery- Claymont

Claymont- Delaware State Police are currently investigating the strong arm robbery of a 64 year old man which occurred in the parking lot of a Claymont area Wawa early yesterday morning.

The initial investigation has determined that the incident occurred at approximately 2:25 a.m. on Thursday, February 23, 2017, as a 64 year old male victim was walking to his car which was parked in the lot of the Wawa located at 697 Naamans Road, Claymont. It was at this time that a male suspect approached the victim from behind and grabbed him by the arm. The suspect then demanded the victim’s wallet while implying that he was armed with a gun. The victim then turned over an undisclosed amount of money to the suspect, who then entered a tan unknown make and model vehicle, which then fled from the lot in an unknown direction. The victim was not injured.

The suspect was described as a black male 30-35 years of age. No further description of him is available.
