Wilmington (19808)- Delaware State Police have arrested a Wilmington man following the strong-arm robbery of a pizza shop employee.

The incident began yesterday, Friday, February 17, 2017, at approximately 9:15 a.m., as a female employee of the Little Caesars Pizza, located at 3613 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, was walking in the parking lot of the business toward her car, carrying a night deposit bag. It was at this time that the victim was approached by a male suspect, who she recognized as Tariq K. Colder, 27, of Wilmington, a former employee of the business. Colder attempted to grab the deposit bag from the victim, however, she refused to let go. The victim and Colder then became involved in a struggle for the bag at which time Colder punched the victim in the face, causing her to fall to the ground and let go of the bag. Colder then fled the area and was last seen running toward the Creeks of Marshallton Apartments, located a short distance away, with the deposit bag. The female victim suffered minor injuries and refused medical treatment.

Through further investigation, troopers were able to link Colder to a specific apartment in the Creeks of Marshallton complex. They then responded to the apartment and upon entering, they were able to take Colder into custody without incident. Evidence linking Colder to the robbery was also located inside of the apartment.

Tariq Colder was transported to Troop 2 where he was arrested and charged with Robbery 2nd Degree. He was arraigned at JP Court 2 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in default of $6000.00 cash bail.
