**Traffic Advisory** Troopers Investigating Serious Crash Involving a Pedestrian- New Castle

New Castle (19270)- Delaware State Police are currently investigating a serious hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian that occurred tonight in New Castle.

The initial investigation has determined that the crash occurred at approximately 9:06 p.m. this evening, Saturday, January 28, 2017, on DE Rt. 9 (New Castle Avenue) in the area of Albany Avenue and involves a pedestrian and a motor vehicle which has fled the area. As a result of the crash a subject has been removed from the scene and transported to the Christiana Hospital Trauma Center with serious injuries.

New Castle Avenue between Albany Avenue and Terminal Avenue has been closed to traffic in both directions and commuters are asked to find alternate routes of travel.

The investigation into this crash is in its early stages. More information will be released at the conclusion of the investigation.
