Troopers Investigate Stabbing – Dover

Dover, DE- Delaware State Police have arrested a 25 year old woman after a stabbing incident which occurred at a Dover area apartment complex yesterday afternoon.

The investigation has determined that the incident happened at approximately 5:56 p.m. yesterday, Saturday, June 11, 2o16, as Nineka Perkins-Hunt, 25, of Dover, was involved in a verbal altercation with a 24 year old female and a 22 year old female, both of Dover, in the parking lot of the Alder Park Apartments located at 51 Webbs Lane, Dover. During the argument, Perkins-Hunt produced a steak knife and proceeded to stab the 24 year old female in her upper torso area. She then used the knife to puncture a hole in a tire of a vehicle belonging to the 22 year old female before fleeing to her apartment where she was taken into custody by responding troopers without incident.

The 24 year old victim was transported to the Kent General Hospital where she was treated for her non-life threatening injury. There were no other injuries.

Nineka Perkins-Hunt was arrested and transported to Troop 3 where she was charged with Assault 2nd Degree, Possession of a Deadly Weapon during the Commission of a Felony, and Criminal Mischief. She was arraigned at JP Court 7 and then committed to the Delores Baylor Correctional Institution for lack of $25,100.00 secured bail.
