Troopers Investigate Dollar Tree Robbery

Claymont, DE- Delaware State Police are investigating the armed robbery of a Claymont area Dollar Tree store that occurred last night.

The initial investigation has determined that the incident occurred on Sunday, June 5, 2016, at approximately 9:06 p.m., as two suspects entered the Dollar Tree store, located at 2099 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont. The suspects, who were both armed with unknown make and model handguns, then confronted two female employees of the store and demanded money from the cash registers and the store safe. The employees complied with the suspect’s demands and turned over an undisclosed amount of money to them. They then fled from the store in an unknown direction. There were no injuries.

The first suspect was described as a white female. She was 5’05” tall, had a heavy build, and was last seen wearing a black shirt, black pants, black sneakers, and had a scarf covering her face and head. There is no further physical or clothing description available.

The second suspect was described as a black male. He was 5’08” tall, had a heavy build, and was last seen wearing a black hat, grey hooded sweatshirt, and black sweatpants. There is no further clothing or physical description available.

This incident remains under investigation by the Delaware State Police. No video surveillance photos are available to be released at this time.
