State Police Investigate Accidental ATV Death Released-Friday, June 27, 2008 Georgetown-Troop 4 patrol officers responded to the area of northbound US 113 south of CR 565 for reports of an ATV accident just after 8:30 last evening. The investigation revealed that Gerrell E. Oliver, 22, of Wilmington was traveling northbound on US 113, on a 2007 Yamaha ATV. Oliver struck a ditch and apparently lost control of the ATV. He was ejected and thrown approximately 10 feet before landing in the grassy area. Mr. Oliver was transported from the scene by helicopter to Peninsula Regional Hospital (Salisbury, MD), where he was pronounced dead due to the seriousness of his injuries. The victim was not wearing a helmet. It is unknown if alcohol was a factor in this accident. |
