Seriously Injured in Early Morning Crash

The Delaware State Police
are investigating a crash that occurred this morning at the Allen
Family Foods located at
18752 Harbeson Rd.
Troopers responded to the crash at 6:35 am after it was reported a
car struck a motorcyclist in the parking lot.
Investigators
learned a 1997 Ford Taurus, operated by Herminio Rodriguez, 41 of
Millsboro, was travelling westbound in the parking lot
(approximately 225 feet away from the exit onto Harbeson Rd) when he
turned left to park the vehicle.
A 2006 Harley
Davidson Motorcycle, operated by Maurice Warren, 49 of Milford, was
travelling eastbound through the parking lot heading to the exit
when the Ford Taurus turned in front of him and struck him on the
left side causing the crash.
As a result of
the impact, Mr. Warren sustained a serious leg injury to his left
leg and was flown by Delaware State Police helicopter to PRMC in
Salisbury. It is unknown at this time if he was wearing a helmet.
Mr. Rodriguez,
who was not injured and wearing a seatbelt, was charged with
Inattentive Driving.
