Arrested for Robbery at Local Wal-Mart

Rehoboth –
The Delaware State Police
have arrested a 41-year-old Rehoboth Beach resident after he injured
a store employee after fleeing from shoplifting goods from the
store.
Troopers
responded to the Wal-Mart located in Rehoboth Mall yesterday at
approximately 6:20 pm after it 911 was called reporting a
shoplifting. Investigators learned James R. Moore, 41 of
Rehoboth, removed several consumable goods from the store and
concealed them in a backpack.
Loss prevention
personnel outside the Wal-mart confronted Mr. Moore as he was
getting on a bicycle. As they were attempting to question him about
the property in the book bag, Mr. Moore began to flee on the
bicycle. A minor physical altercation ensued between Mr. Moore and
the 41-year-old loss prevention officer, which resulted in minor
injury to the loss prevention officer’s arms.
At this point,
additional patrons and store employee’s were able to assist and Mr.
Moore was held until police arrived. All items stolen were
recovered. Due to this incident, Mr. Moore was charged with Robbery
2nd Degree and Disorderly Conduct. He was remanded to the
Sussex Correctional Institute in lieu of secured bail.
