Arrested on Drug Offenses

Milton
– The Delaware State Police Sussex County Drug Unit and Sussex
County Governors Task Force arrested a 23 year old and a 38 year old
Milton pair after they were found to be in possession of illegal
narcotics and gun.
Yesterday,
Omar Johnson, 23 of Milton and a level 3 probationer, was
observed by unit members as a passenger in a vehicle that was
traveling on US 9, west of Lewes. The vehicle was stopped by members
of the task force, which consisted of Probation and Parole officers;
to conduct an administrative search of Mr. Johnson.
Subsequent the
roadside search, a search warrant was then executed on his residence
located in the 28000 block of West Spring side Drive, in Cool
Springs. During the search of the home, unit members contacted
William R. Aikens, 38, also a resident of the home. They located
5.3 grams of powder cocaine and several drug paraphernalia items
found in his bedroom.
Additionally, a
search of Mr. Johnson’s bedroom revealed 1.7 grams of crack cocaine
concealed in a closet. Also, a
box of .38 caliber
special ammunition was located under Johnson’s mattress; and an
additional five rounds of .38 special ammunition was located on a
shelf in the closet.
Furthermore, Johnson was also found to be in possession of $698.00
U.S. Currency during the traffic stop.
A search of the
exterior of the property revealed a
Smith and Wesson .38
Special revolver located under a dog house. As a result of the
investigation, Omar Johnson
was formally charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver Cocaine,
Maintaining a Dwelling, Poss. of firearm by person prohibited, Poss.
Of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony, Poss. of ammunition
by person prohibited, Endangering the welfare of a child (2 counts)
and possession of drug paraphernalia.
William Aikens
was charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver Cocaine,
Maintaining a Dwelling, Endangering the welfare of a child (2
counts) and Possession of drug paraphernalia. Both have been
committed to the Sussex County Correctional Institute in lieu of
bail.
